If anything, this past year has proved that anything can happen. Marriage is funny like that. When you sign up for marriage you truly never know what you are going to be handed. My husband and I have been handed more random cards in the last two years than the first eight, but being flexible and going with the flow is often the thing that has kept my marriage going. Rain. No one really wishes for it on their wedding day when their plan was to get married outside in at the St. Regis in Aspen, Colorado. Most my clients want to get married outside because it is part of who they are; outdoor, Colorado loving people. When I woke up in Aspen on the morning of Tiago and Margaret’s wedding day I knew it was going to be one of those day. Socked in. 90% chance of rain. I walked in and Margaret was cool as can be. She had two dresses so we decided to do her 1st look at the top of the mountain still, knowing that we probably wouldn’t have a view and there was a high possibility of mud. The ceremony was moved inside but they took it all in stride. They were getting married today and that is all that mattered to them. I think starting their marriage off with grace and a challenge is really an indication of the kind of people Tiago and Margaret are. I caught Tiago crying several times throughout the day, the vulnerability of this man showing his love for his wife was truly heart melting . The weather cleared during cocktail hour for a bit so we could grab a few photos outside and they had an amazing time with their guests…many of which came from Brazil to be there where Tiago is from. If you haven’t met any Brazilian people they throw one hell of a party! Congratulations Tiago and Margaret! I wish you a lifetime of happiness and I know this wasn’t the only storm you will have to weather, but I know you will most definitely weather them together, gracefully. Welcome to the adventure.
