Steamboat Spring – Fish Creek Falls Engagement Session | Mikaela & Patrick

Their first hike together was at Fish Creek Falls in Steamboat. So naturally we went there for their engagement photos. We couldn’t have timed the photos any better as the Aspen leaves were in their prime and almost all yellow already!  As we hiked down to the lower falls viewpoint, I explained to them that the waterfall is set pretty far back away from the trail and bridge, so if they wanted a photo of them and the actual waterfall, that we’d probably have to take it on the (ugly) bridge. They both lit up and asked if they could climb down on the rocks and hike back a little ways towards the falls and asked if that would work. Since I didn’t see any signs saying we couldn’t I said I was game if they were and off we went…. Carefully. Patrick went first and then would turn around every step and make sure that Mikaela was safe while traversing the rocks. After seeing that, I knew that their love was a protective and caring forever love.
