Jenny & Mike’s Beaver Creek Wedding: Love, Loyalty, and a Little Rain
If you had been at Jenny and Mike’s wedding in Beaver Creek, three things would have quickly become clear: Mike once worked on an offshore oil rig, Jenny spent time living and working in Scotland, and together, they absolutely adore their dogs. The first two experiences shaped their relationship during the years they were dating—creating distance, yes, but also deepening their connection. The third? Well, that one just speaks for itself.
Throughout the day, the couple’s love for dogs was a running theme—both literally and figuratively. While out exploring Beaver Creek for portraits, they stopped more than once to comment on passing pups. At one point, they even joked (though it might not have been a joke!) that if we saw a dog resembling theirs, they’d ask the owner for a quick photo. Needless to say, we kept an eye out.
Between dog-spotting and dodging rainclouds, the weather tried its best to challenge us—but Jenny and Mike never wavered. Summer rain in the Colorado Rockies can be unpredictable, and on this day, it truly poured. But their attitude remained upbeat and hopeful from beginning to end. They were convinced the skies would clear just in time for their ceremony… and they were right.
As if on cue, the rain let up just before they said “I do,” allowing them to keep their outdoor wedding dreams intact. From that moment on, any lingering weather-related stress seemed to melt away. Spirits were high, the setting was beautiful, and the celebration kicked into full swing.
There’s something special about couples who embrace the unpredictability of a wedding day with grace and humor—and Jenny and Mike did just that. Their Beaver Creek wedding was filled with heart, a few raindrops, and a whole lot of joy.

Both Jenny and Mike spent a good amount of time enjoying their evening, both talking with guests and cutting loose on the dance floor. It was great to see them happy and having so much fun. While I know that they missed their dogs, I don’t think they would have wanted to be anywhere else on such an unforgettable day.
