Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Summer Wedding | Jenny & Mike

If you had been at Jenny and Mike’s wedding, you’d have noticed three different things that kept getting mentioned throughout the day… Mike’s time spent working on an offshore oil rig, Jenny’s time spent working in Scotland, and their two dogs. The first two both occurred during the period when they were dating and greatly contributed to the strength of their relationship. The third, their dogs, simply show that they love their dogs.

While we were out and about in Beaver Creek doing portraits, more than once Jenny and Mike commented on dogs that we saw. In fact, they said that if we saw a dog that looked like theirs, they might go ask the owner if they could get a photo with it (and I don’t think they were joking)! When we weren’t looking for dogs to borrow, we enjoyed the parts of the day when it wasn’t raining and got in as many outdoor photos as possible. 

It did end up raining for a lot of the day. In fact, it absolutely poured, which is kind of unusual for summer in the mountains. Still, Jenny and Mike remained upbeat and positive throughout the entire day. They were confident that the rain would pass in time for their ceremony, which it did, so they were able to have an outdoor wedding. Once that happened, any weather-related stress that may have been around evaporated and it was party time!

Both Jenny and Mike spent a good amount of time enjoying their evening, both talking with guests and cutting loose on the dance floor. It was great to see them happy and having so much fun. While I know that they missed their dogs, I don’t think they would have wanted to be anywhere else on such an unforgettable day.
