Michelle + Justin | Sol Terra Wedding

The retreat at Sol Terra is like this little gem tucked away in the foothills. Think venetian or tuscan gardens in the heart of Lakewood Colorado. It feels secluded even though it is in the middle of the neighborhood. I can see why it’s called “The Retreat at Sol Terra”. I think most my clients want that feel. A bit of isolation either in the mountains or in this case pretty near town.  I met Michelle through my sister as she used to work with her. I had never been to Sol Terra but was really pleasantly surprised by how lovely it was. Michelle wanted a laid back romantic feel to her day. It had been raining or threatening rain all afternoon while they were getting ready and they totally lucked out with the weather and were able to do everything outside which is ideal because Sol Terra has a stunning outdoor patio where you can dance under the stars.

I loved how Michelle and Justin incorporated little pieces that were them throughout their day. Their day really had a vintage flair and Justin’s dad brought his vintage car for them to take photos with. I’d never seen the painting they made during their ceremony done before. It was a unique touch. One thing that struck me about Michelle and Justin much like many of my clients was their giddiness not only with each other and their connection there, but also their connection to their families. Everyone who was there was there for a reason and their connection showed throughout the day. Even if they weren’t family they were to Justin and Michelle. The best man speech was one of the most emotional moments of the day. Matt with Amore DJ does this really brilliant thing where he interviews the father of the bride and plays his voice over their Daddy/Daughter dance. It was a real jerker for sure but a really really nice addition to the day. Their party lasted until the last second, all enjoying themselves and each other’s company. A true celebration of two families and their love for one another uniting. Best wishes on your new journey Michelle & Justin. It was an honor to capture your event.
