Kenosha Pass Engagement Session | Joanie & Paul

Rain is part of every Colorado story it seems. The ability to dodge the rain and guess at radars on my phone is something I am no stranger to. Especially in late July and early August which is our monsoon season. We were hoping to get a window of nice weather for Joanie and Paul’s session. Joanie really wanted Aspens and so we took her to Kenosha Pass. If you’ve never been to Kenosha before, it’s sort of in the middle of nowhere, with no cell service, but it has the most epic grove of Aspens. It is nice because it has it all; open field, trails, roads. We were doing so well for about the first half of the session. I always bring umbrellas with me so I snagged an umbrella out of my car and I am so glad I did. Not only did it start to rain on us but it was hailing. We continued to shoot in the hail and then were on our way back until it did start lightning. We still got some adorable shots of the two of them and I loved their country vibe and hats that they got from Kemo Sabe. They are getting married at Keystone Ranch next summer and we can’t wait!
