I Celebrate Love. Period.

Today is an amazing day. A day that so many in Colorado have waited for. Today I am celebrating that love has prevailed. I am proud to be not only in Colorado, but a Colorado native. Colorado and our nation still has a long way to go, but we are moving in the right direction. I have been in tears most of the morning watching some of the video and images from the last 12 hours or so. I wanted to make it abundantly clear that my passion for equal rights for all my gay and lesbian brother and sisters comes from my deep love for the world and the people in it. I don’t specialize in gay weddings. I specialize in love. I celebrate it, honor it, and think it is the very best thing we have in this world. To judge someone and tell them that loving another person is wrong goes against everything I stand for. I hesitate as I write this post as I have tried to make a point in my life and business that any GLBT couple (or person) walking into my life or my studio should feel exactly like any other couple walking through my door, and by writing a post like this and adding a “same-sex” category to my blog this it separates and points it out as different. However, I also want everyone of you to know that no matter who you love, I am with you 100%, I am not jumping on a bandwagon, and I appreciate and celebrate every human that walks through my door: gay, strait, or otherwise. I love each and everyone of my couples and I celebrate love. Period.

I leave you with an image from the only same-sex wedding I have ever done. I commend these ladies, as they did not wait for the government to dictate their lives. They are some of the sweetest, kindest, most humble, and loving couples I have ever met in my life. Couples like these two inspire me every day to make my own marriage stronger.  Thank you Candy and Mallorie for showing me that and being willing to share your special day.
