Elise & Ryan | Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding

I originally talked to them over the phone but we met in person for their engagement session and I picked them up and we drove to Kenosha Pass. The best part of the story is as we had commented about three times on the amount of cops out on the roads I looked in my rear view to see some flashing lights. I have a tendency to have a bit of a lead foot but I am usually a bit more behaved when clients are in the car. He came to the door and he asked where we were going and what we were doing. I replied with something like “oh they are getting married and I am their photographer”. I think he must have thought they were getting married that day because he totally let me off with a warning and we were off back towards our destination and cracking up. I turned around and said I was so sorry and they both shrugged and said it was totally something that would happen to them. We had an awesome session followed by dinner (after walking out of one restaurant and into another) we had bonded haha. These people we definitely my people. Their dry sense of humor and Colorado laid back attitude is exactly what I look for in my couples. Couples with their amazing kindness and grace I couldn’t ask for a better couple to hang out with on their wedding day.

Their wedding day arrived like they do. I could not get over Elise’s headpiece, the combination with her dress she looked like a greek goddess. Spruce Mountain Ranch never disappoints and with amazing people like Elise and Ryan, their families and friends were just as kind and gracious. Their details were classic yet playful (definitely check out their ring box). Ryan is a wear your hear on your sleeves sort of guy. Never being shy about how he was feeling that day. We definitely caught him a few times shedding a tear or just overwhelmed by the day and Elise.

When I think about fall usually I think about yellow leaves and cooler temperatures, but this day was a bit different than most fall days. It was overcast but warm, the flowers were still out and it was warm. A stunning Colorado day gave us amazing sunsets and warm enough weather to dance under the stars. The sunshine came out just in time for the ceremony where their golden doodle Griffen played the part of ring bearer. I felt like everything went according to plan, and everyone had an amazing time. One thing that really struck me through out the day was their kindness. It was always present in both Elise and Ryan and it definitely reflected into their friends and families. Everyone had an amazing time and at the end of the night the clouds cleared out enough to take a star photo. An absolutely perfect day.

Ryan and Elise I cannot thank you enough for allowing us to be a small part of your wedding day. You are both so radiant, kind and loving not only to each other but to the people who surround you. I know you two and Mr. Griffen the pup will have so many amazing adventures together. I can’t wait to watch you two grow in your relationship and take on the world together.
