Breckenridge Engagement Session at Blue Lakes | Casey & Nate

Amidst the stunning mountain vistas of Breckenridge, Casey and Nate’s dream of a ski lift engagement session was momentarily shattered by the arrival of rain and lightning. Safety protocols dictated the closure of the Breckenridge gondola and subsequent lifts (up to 30 minutes per strike with no end in sight). However, this setback only fueled their determination to find an alternative that would still capture the essence of their love story. Knowing the Breckenridge area like the back of my hand, I offered some alternative locations for their shoot.

So we headed to Blue Lakes, where I was confident they would be pleased with the options and backdrop. It rained on and off, and we fully embraced it. To match their outfits, Casey and Nate even brought a cute blue umbrella (psst, I always have white umbrellas with me in case we need to shoot in the rain). We made a quick stop at my favorite waterfall and concluded the session with a champagne pop at Montgomery Reservoir.

When Casey and Nate received their photos, their excitement surpassed all expectations. Although their ski lift engagement session had taken an unforeseen turn, the images reflected a story that unfolded exactly as it was meant to. Sometimes, embracing a plan B can lead to the most unforgettable moments and cherished memories.
