A Little Rain, A Lot of Love A Mountain Wedding at Ten Mile Station in Breckenridge

They say a little rain on your wedding day is good luck but what about snow, rain, and hail?
That’s exactly what Mother Nature gifted this incredible couple on their late fall wedding.

The day began with soft, moody clouds hanging over the mountains and the last flickers of golden aspen leaves clinging to the trees. It was that magical in-between time in the Rockies, when fall is giving way to winter and no one can quite predict what will happen next.

Just as the ceremony was about to begin, the sky opened up and the weather decided to put on a full Colorado performance: a mix of rain, sleet, and even a burst of snow. Most couples might have panicked or felt defeated. But not these two. They simply laughed, held each other close, and said, “Well, this is our story now.”

That became the tone for the entire day, joyful, resilient, and full of love. Their friends and family rallied around them with fabric napkins, coats, and plenty of humor.

Inside TenMile Station, everyone dried off, shared drinks, and told stories while the storm rolled through. By the time dinner and dancing began, the clouds parted just enough to reveal the snow-dusted peaks of Breckenridge glowing under the last light of day. It was absolutely stunning, one of those moments you can’t plan for but never forget.

To me, that’s what makes photographing weddings like this so special. You can’t control the mountains, the weather, or the timing but you can capture the love, connection, and laughter that hold strong no matter what happens.
