Nicole + Toby | Deer Creek Valley Ranch Wedding

Deer Creek may be one of my favorite places to photograph a wedding. Maybe it’s the story of how the ranch completed a love story, the gorgeous grounds, or western charm, but I believe it’s the kind of people that it attracts. Down to earth Colorado loving people who love each other and their families and friends they choose to invite. Toby and Nicole are no exception to this rule. When I met them over dinner a while back something clicked. I always say that weddings for me (and I would hope for my couples) are about connection. To each other, to the people they choose to share their day with. Why are the people there to celebrate, what does this family, friend mean to this couple. Where is the connection? My job is to find it. Whether it’s Mom or Grandma or the bride and groom themselves. Connection is why we are here on earth in the first place and why weddings are so wonderful. We are surrounded by the people we are most connected to in the world. I love when I connect to my couples. I care about them like they are my best friends. It’s personal. I was asked recently if weddings ever get old. The answer for me is no. Wedding may have similar events but it’s the people I adore and keep my job interesting. I love the people and every story is different so I will never get bored with that. These two people are so special. Their connection to each other is amazing and their kind hearts even more so. Thank you Nicole and Toby for allowing me to be part of your day.
